Ron
Harrison
Ron Harrison is Director of Marketing & Communications for
the Omnicom Media Group (OMG). Based in New York, he is responsible
for a wide variety of tasks for OMG and its operating company
networks, OMD and PHD. These include responsibility for the introduction
and integration of OMG companies into the Omnicom network, OMG
corporate brand marketing, the global management of all web-based
communications platforms, and overseeing all management conferences
and media training.
His background has all been in the media world, with broad category
and client experience. He has been in advertising for 25 years,
the last 17 with Omnicom units BBDO and OMG.
Ron began his career at Campbell-Ewald in Detroit selling cars
for Chevrolet, tires for Goodyear and spark plugs for AC-Delco.
He then moved to New York and spent five years on Madison Avenue
with Ogilvy & Mather, working on clients such General Foods,
AT&T, Kimberly-Clark and American Express.
Ron joined BBDO as the Media Director of the San Francisco office
in April, 1984. In 1986, following BBDO’s successful pitch
for the worldwide business of Apple Computer, Ron was the senior
media representative on that account for over five years. He was
lured to BBDO corporate headquarters in 1996 and moved to OMG
in 1998.
Ron is an alumni of Michigan State University, where he graduated
with B.A. and M.B.A. degrees. He is married and lives in New York
with his wife and teenage son.
