SONY's Results
Since
its completion two years ago, there have been as many as 100 registered
users of the Sony site at a time.
“Learning the system was quite easy,” says Oliver.
“Thanks to the site we can post all of the supporting materials
- statistics, demographics, costs, etc. - for our presentations
online, rather than clogging everybody’s inboxes with enormous
spreadsheet files. Our people and the people at Sony can access
them quickly and easily, as well as keep up with the latest reports
on performance once a plan is in flight.”
In fact, Digital Office™ users in Sony’s Consumer Electronics
division found the ColSpace tools so useful that word began to spread
to other divisions in the company. “We started working just
with the people in consumer electronics,” recalls Matthew
Greenhouse, “but after working with them for several months,
Sony decided to expand our tools to Columbia Tri-Star, Sony Music,
Sony Business Europe, and AIWA.” Naturally, each division
had specific needs for which the system would have to be designed,
so the ColSpace team went right back to work in order to develop
customized sites for each.
“Expanding our tools across multiple divisions at Sony provided
us with the perfect opportunity to demonstrate just how versatile
our system can be,” explains Matthew. “Thanks to the
scalability and the basic ease-of-use of Digital Office, we were
able to help one of the largest, most diverse and most successful
companies in the global marketplace improve the efficiency of their
marketing efforts.”
